The Clueless star opened up about her former life and struggles with addiction on the Oct. 14, 2021 episode of The Doctor Oz Show.
Dash, 55, confessed, “I lost everything,” succumbing to her addiction.
The former star told Dr. Oz that overcoming her addiction helped her internally deal with the abusive parents that enabled her downfall.
Dash revealed that she first tried drugs when she was eight years old and her mother gave her her first dose of cocaine when she was 16.
Eventually, she hit rock bottom and tried to end her life.
“I didn’t really remember when I tried to commit suicide until I was 17. Then I remembered what happened to me. I was already very angry. I was an angry teenager.
“I was 10 or 11 years old when my mother finally left my father. I knew he loved me. He just couldn’t. He couldn’t overcome his addiction.”
When asked how much she spent on drugs, Stacey estimated about $5,000 to $10,000 each month.

“That’s what stopped me. I almost died,” she recalled.
“My kidneys were so infected that my blood was rotting and my organs were shutting down.
“So I was taken to the hospital and had to have a total blood transfusion and stayed there for three weeks.”
“And by the grace and mercy of God I lived.”
Dash once again put her addiction in the spotlight on Sept. 1, 2022, when she learned of the death of rapper DMX, who died last April 9, 2021.
Dash posted a video on his TikTok account crying, admitting he just learned about the death.
“I’m ashamed,” she said through tears.
“I didn’t know….DMX died of a cocaine overdose, I didn’t know.”
She then said, “I am 6 years and 1 month clean today.”
“It breaks my heart, it breaks my heart, he lost it, he lost it, he lost it to that demon of addiction, please don’t lose it. ”
