With the NFL’s preseason coming to an end, players battling for positions on their respective rosters are hoping to use their last chance to make an impression. The final game of the Los Angeles Rams’ preseason schedule was a Super Bowl LVI rematch as the Rams faced the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday.
Former Virginia quarterback Bryce Perkins has been very impressive throughout the preseason so far, cementing the Rams’ takeover as backup quarterback on John Walford’s team. , has made a convincing argument to the rest of the league that he could be the NFL’s starting quarterback.
The Rams struggled offensively against the Bengals on Saturday, but their lone touchdown was the result of Bryce Perkins once again showing off his athleticism and elusiveness. On the second goal from the 3-yard line, Perkins was flushed out of his right pocket, broke one tackle, reversed the field, and went back left to tightrope across the sideline into the end zone.

It’s unclear what the Rams plan to do with the quarterback’s room as the NFL’s cut deadline approaches. All teams have to cut their rosters down to his 53 players by 4 p.m. ET Tuesday. The Rams had Matt Stafford, John Walford and Bryce Perkins all three on their roster last season, but Sean McVay and company have decided to add Walford and Perkins as long-term backup options for the team. It seems you have to choose one or the other.
