Centennial Men’s Championship
The Centennial Boys football team won the Las Cruces Public Schools tournament over the weekend to start the season 6-0.
Seth Buchanan: The Centennial goalkeeper made three consecutive shutouts in the final as Centennial defeated Deming 10-0, Chaparral 6-0 and Gadsden 4-0.
Sale Alones: The Centennial forward had eight goals and three assists last week.
Lauren Ocampo: The Centennial women’s soccer team reached the championship in the LCPS tournament, but a weather delay ended the tournament final against Carlsbad. Ocampo pinned the Hawks’ backline to three shutouts in the tournament.
Alejandro Esparza, Ezequiel Chavez and Aiden Apodaca: Mayfield’s youth soccer team started 1-4, but Esparza, Chavez and Apodaca played well for the Trojans early on.
Hayley Hernandez: The Organ Mountain volleyball player had 19 kills, 12 digs and 3 aces in his team’s 3-1 loss to Hanks.
