HODA Kotb broke down in tears during an intense moment with a Today Show guest.
The TV presenter couldn’t hide her emotions when country singer LeAnn Rimes performed a song from her latest album, God’s Work.
A tearful-eyed Hoda and co-host Jenna Bush Hager took Leanne’s side to hug her immediately after the singer performed her song “Innocent” on Sept. 16. I rushed over.
Hoda held back tears while TODAY’s co-stars warmly hugged the two-time Grammy Award winner.
As Hoda wipes away her tears in the post-air chat, she exclaims, “Wow!” More than once.
Jenna shared her emotional reaction, saying, “We were crying!”
“What a beautiful love letter to yourself!” she added.
Leann replied, “I hope it reminds everyone of their innocence.”
Her warm moment with the country star was also captured in a sweet photo and shared on Hoda and Jenna’s joint Instagram.
Two more photos from the pair’s post-show show Leanne powerfully delivering one of her songs and the star smiling on set today.
The caption read, “The stunning Leanne Rimes left us speechless this morning.
“We loved celebrating her new album ‘God’s Work’. It brought tears to our eyes. We love Leanne, you are a gift. Co-host added it was done.

In introducing the performance, the morning show host said Leanne won her first Grammy when she was 14 and “celebrated her 40th birthday.”
The artist came today not only to celebrate her birthday, but to celebrate her new album.
With a discography of nearly 20 albums, LeAnn’s latest, God’s Work, was released on the same day as her Today show performance.
Today’s sentimental moment with LeAnn happened just one day before fans wowed the live broadcast with interesting props created in honor of Kotb and Savannah Guthrie.
Co-host Craig Melvin made sure to give fans the spotlight during Tuesday’s show to reveal the strange item.
As he walked to one of the corners, a man was waiting with an accordion fan.
“I want to show everyone that Savannah and Hoda have a lot of fans,” Craig said as he finished passing members of the crowd.
After the camera got a close-up of the guest’s item featuring Savannah and Hoda’s faces, Craig joked: “Literally, fan.”
“Fans! Best fans ever! Hoda and Savannah.”
Guests shared that they made it online, and the host begged to “send some to the studio.”
Fans are constantly inspired by morning show hosts.
Earlier this summer, another fan said on air that Hoda inspired him to become a journalist.
