Three Denver Broncos line up for next extension

The edge rusher is the second most important position in the NFL after the quarterback. Chubb isn’t consistently available in the Broncos, but when he’s on the field, he gets a lot of attention from his opponent’s offense.

Coming into 2022, Chubb is the healthiest since his rookie campaign and could produce a similar stat line to 2018. Having Randy Gregory play opposite him only increases the chances of him making a game-breaking play.

Edge rushers are well paid on the open market, so Denver would be wise to lock Chubb in before prices skyrocket. His injury history has affected his play over the last few years For that reason, a two-year “proof” contract could be on the card of a former top-five draft pick for about $15 million a year.

Jones has been a staple of the defensive line for the last three years. Broncos Country has been waiting for him to have his breakout season.

Jones’ run defense still needs improvement, but his pass rushing ability is where he earns. With inside pass rushing being key and Chubb and Gregory rushing on both edges, Jones has plenty of chances to enjoy in midfield.

The Broncos need to hedge their bets and extend before Jones can play at a higher salary grade.
