Part toothbrush, part UV cleaning kit, Plover is the most advanced travel brush you can take with you.
Named after the small, fearless bird famous for cleaning crocodile teeth by plucking them directly from its mouth, plovers are tiny toothbrushes that do much the same thing for humans. Not only made for travel, but also for your health, this two-part design features a stick with bristles on one end and a hollow container in which the stick fits. And the outer case turns into a toothbrush handle. This format is quite popular for its folding brush style, but Plover has another trick. A UV light is built into the cavity of the handle to sterilize the brush after brushing and before brushing again, killing all bacteria on the bristles and maintaining a high standard of oral hygiene.

Chidori’s toothbrush comes with a brush body and a case/handle. When closed, the opposite end of the brush has a carabiner clip to make Plover easy to carry. Its compact size makes it ideal to put in your backpack, suitcase, or toiletry bag. The handle/cover comes with a unique textured design that makes the Plover look attractive and feel grippy. A USB-C port on the underside of the handle/cover allows you to charge Plover’s UV chamber.
When open, the Plover is the size of your average toothbrush, with wide handles for easy grip and bristles that work to scrape food and plaque from your teeth. The bristles are attached to a removable plastic head that can be removed and discarded after a few months, making it a toothbrush whose heads can be replaced to extend its overall lifespan.

A carabiner clip makes the Plover fairly easy to carry.
But Plover’s most striking design feature is the integration of the UV sterilization chamber into the toothbrush design. We’ve seen our fair share of toothbrush sanitizers/disinfectants, but Plover offers a portable, hassle-free solution that makes maintaining oral hygiene a step easier. There is no button to toggle on and off. Rather, the light automatically turns on when the USB-C cable is plugged in. In my opinion this is a much more elegant solution.
