The report showed a strong relationship between the percentage of each state’s land devoted to national parks and having higher scores on the Health Index. This correlation highlights how important nature and outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and running are to overall health.
Finally, the report showed where in the United States there is the greatest interest in integrative health practices. That’s because positive research shows personal motivations to stay healthy. Using data from Google Trends, Life Extension found that over the past year he searched six key wellness search keywords: meditation, yoga, mindfulness, healthy eating, vitamins, and supplements. Findings in this category were incorporated into the overall best and worst health rankings.
