If you’ve been following Twitter lately, a new trend has captured everyone’s imagination on the social media platform. The “one word tweet” trend has even managed to join the office of US President Joe Biden.
The trend is believed to have been started by the social media team of American rail service provider Amtrak. Amtrak’s Twitter handle posted a tweet on Thursday that read just “trains.”

Hours after Amtrak posted the one-word tweet, it had over 20,000 retweets and nearly 130,000 likes.
As soon as the railroad company tweeted the term, the trend spread faster than the bullet train and many media companies, multinationals, fast food companies and even NASA joined in.
“Democracy,” President Biden tweeted from the official handle of the President of the United States.

Marvel’s “anti-hero” comic book and movie character, Deadpool, just tweeted “Deadpool” and the numbers went up.

While many believe the original tweet was a mistake by an “intern” on Amtrak’s social media team, others believe it was a deliberate social media ploy to gain attention.
Meanwhile, Twitter announced on Thursday that users will be able to edit already-public tweets soon.
Twitter Blue, Twitter’s paid subscription service, shared a photo of the edited tweet on its official account, writing:

Twitter confirmed that it is testing the editing feature.
“If you see an edited tweet, it’s because we’re testing the edit button. This is happening and it’s fine,” the official handle tweeted.
