featuring the good, the bad, and the ugly,Look of the Week” is a regular series dedicated to unpacking the most talked about outfits of the past seven days.

Oscar-winning actor Nicole Kidman took the internet’s attention this week with her new shoot for Perfect Magazine.

Kidman, who turned 55 this summer, flexes his incredibly sculpted triceps on magazine covers. A cascade of his red hair falls over one shoulder and a section is bluntly cropped at the chin. Not power in his suit or black turtleneck. Kidman wears items from his Fall/Winter 2022 collection by fashion brand Diesel, which debuted at his Fashion Week in Milan in February 2020. And that buzzy belted skirt that Kidman wears.

The actor wore Diesel from head to toe for the first cover, with photography by Zhong Lin, styling by Robbie Spencer, and creative direction by Katie Grand.

The second cover features Kidman wearing giant, patented thigh-high boots similar to those spotted at Rihanna last week from Y/Project, the label that, like Diesel, is headed by Belgian designer Glenn Martens. is doing. Also, throughout the 20-page fashion article, you’ll find photos of Kidman in a number of net-shaking looks, including her infamous nude print dress and her double denim Diesel ensemble.

Dubbed “Perfect Icon,” one of 23 new awards created to spotlight talent across the industry, Kidman received her is celebrated for its insatiable curiosity and diversity.

“I make decisions like a teenager,” she said in an accompanying interview. It’s going to be a really eventful career, and I’m into it.'”

This penchant for daredevil dressing has long given Kidman an edge in the high fashion arena as well. In February, he infamously appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair’s latest “Hollywood issue” in his Spring/Summer 2022 Miu Miu He Micro skirt. (There were 111 posts in 6 months. Baz Luhrmann, the director, said in an interview with Vogue Australia.)

During Paris Haute Couture Week in July, Kidman modeled for Balenciaga on the runway alongside Bella Hadid, Kim Kardashian and Dua Lipa.

But the actor has long been one of fashion’s smartest risk-takers. In 1997, Kidman wore his Chartreuse his Dior dress made of embroidered silk at the Academy Awards ceremony. Designed by John Galliano, the look now boasts a dedicated Wikipedia page and has been a hit. The color of the gown was heavily criticized by comedian and red carpet critic Joan Rivers (who reportedly told Kidman that the shade was “nauseating” and made actors nauseous when they passed by). , some claim it helped create a cautious red carpet culture. A dress that continues today. “John[Galliano]made it for me. I love it,” Kidman told Women’s Wear Daily at the event. , if not, maybe you should.”

Fashion, deeply entwined with narrow beauty standards, is often seen as a young person’s game, and expectations about what to wear become increasingly restricted as we age. said that fun takes precedence over being fit. “That’s probably why I click with photographers.
