No matter what your personal tastes are, few women want to be described as ‘cheesy’.
One professional stylist revealed five fashion mistakes she thinks are always tasteless and should be avoided at all costs.
Tess Iandola is a stylist and closet organizer who has worked for Ralph Lauren and several luxury stores in Chicago and San Francisco.
Speaking to the US Sun, she said:
That doesn’t have to mean wearing expensive designer merchandise from head to toe – but it certainly means no fakes.
Iandola’s five fashion no-nos also include off-limits brunch outfits and common perfume faux pas.
“Tacky is a knockoff,” Yandra says.
“Especially handbags. You can find them in five steps.
“They always seem to fall apart at the seams,” she explains.
“If you can’t afford the real thing, look for a real alternative.”
make no effort
Flip-flops and yoga pants are “don’ts,” according to Iandola’s book.
“Okay, you’re too busy to bother,” she says.
Workout clothes – when you’re not working out
“College T-shirts and sweatshirts are not flattering,” says Iandola.
“Wear it to the gym, not to brunch.”
pick the wrong piece
Too snug, baggy, or ill-fitting can make you look ugly, says Iandola.
“You’re not Kardashian. Too tight no one will flatter you,” she points out.
Too much perfume is an awkward move, says Iandola.
“Keep in mind that your favorite scent may not be what other people want to smell,” she says.
“Less is better.”
