
Ecuador’s national football team will take a bit of their home country with them as they take part in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar this November and December.
Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol (FEF) and manufacturer Marathon have unveiled the new kit that the team will wear in Qatar on Thursday 25th August.
The home kit is predominantly yellow with a tonal diagonal herringbone pattern across the front. The navy blue crew neck collar has notches on each side and red trim along the front half. A solid blue block appears on the shoulder. Side panels are blue, red and yellow. The back half of each cuff is navy blue and the front half is yellow. The halves are separated by yellow, blue and red blocks, ecuadorian flag.
All three kits feature a printed graphic on the inside collar representing four different regions of Ecuador: Pacific Coast, Galapagos Islands, Andes Mountains and Amazon Jungle. The back color of all three kits depicts the outline of Ecuador and the equatorial latitude coordinates (0° 0′ 0″) through the country.

The away kit is navy blue and features a tonal geometric pattern on the front, thought to be inspired by the ancient Incas who once lived in the area. The Ecuadorian third kit is predominantly white with a similar vertical stripe down the front. Like his kit, the collar and shoulder blocks are a solid navy blue with red trim on the collar. Ecuador is the only country with marathon equipment to participate in the 2022 World Cup.
Ecuador is in Group A of the World Cup alongside hosts Qatar, the Netherlands and Senegal. They will face Qatar in the opening match of the tournament on Sunday 20 November at Ar Bait Stadium in Al Khor.
