Dave Chappelle has branded Will Smith “as ugly as we are” and said the actor’s carefully crafted “perfect mask” slipped when he beat Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Smith won Best Actor at the 2022 Academy Awards for his role as Richard, the father of Serena and Venus Williams. king richardbut his night at the Oscars is better remembered for his run-in with The Rock.

The comedian hosted the ceremony and made jokes at the expense of Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Smith went on stage, slapped Rock, went back to his seat and screamed.
Both have apologized since the incident, and Smith resigned as a member of the academy after being banned from attending any event for a decade.
The Rock has now spoken out more about the incident during a date in Liverpool on his UK tour with Dave Chappelle.

According to the Mail Online, Chappelle asked The Rock if the slap hurts, to which he replied:
Chappelle continued: “For 30 years, Will has been giving the impression of a perfect human being, but he ripped off his mask to show that he is as ugly as we are.
“Whatever the outcome, I hope he doesn’t wear a mask again and let his real face breathe. I see myself in both men.”
After the slap, Smith gave a tearful acceptance speech for Best Actor at the Oscars in March, before posting on Instagram: I was irrelevant and wrong.
“I am ashamed and my actions have not been indicative of the man I want to be. Violence has no place in a world of love and kindness.”
