Back to 10 Cat Travel Accessories for the RV Lifestyle
The following 10 items are RV lifestyle essentials when taking your kitty on the road. All of these cat travel accessories should make RV trips more enjoyable for you and your cat.
1. Neko Carrier
When traveling with pets, it’s important to keep them safe on the road. Not only do we keep them safe, we keep yours safe too. A frightened cat jumping on your lap can be dangerous in many ways.
Keeping your cat in a carrier also allows you to safely stow your pet when you arrive at your destination. , you can concentrate on preparing the campsite.
2. Portable cat tent
Another accessory that fits the RV lifestyle perfectly is a portable cat tent. A cat tent is a mesh-sided enclosure that you can set up at your campsite to house your kittens so they can enjoy the outdoors.
When traveling to new places, your cat may wander and get lost. This tent allows him to still enjoy the outdoors, but stay safely close to you.
3. Portable cat litter
There is no way around this. You need a cat litter box when traveling with cats!
This portable toilet has a zipper closure so it can be easily moved in any RV. When you reach your next destination, you can unzip it and put it back together. Plus, it’s easier to carry around to throw away (responsibly) the trash or clean up when needed.
4. Odor masking cat litter
Regardless of the size of your RV, your RV is a relatively small and limited space. That means you need a good odor control cat litter to mask the bathroom discomfort coming from your furry friends.
It is also ideal for low-dust type cat litter. This keeps your RV clean and smelling fresh.

5. Cat Harness and Lead
Another great pet accessory to take on your next road trip is a cat harness and leash. It can prevent the kitten from escaping and let you go outside safely.
It may take some time for your cat to get used to it, but once they get used to it, it may become their favorite accessory. Some even take their kittens on short hikes!
6. Spill-proof food and water bowls

Another must-have when traveling with your cat is a spill-proof food and water bowl. You don’t have to worry about your pet spilling food or water when you leave your RV.
It puts your mind at ease knowing your cat has access to food and water all day long.
7. Airtight food storage container
In nature, there are many creatures. From bugs to squirrels, there are many animals that love to eat cat food.
Keeping the food in an airtight container keeps it fresher for your cat and masks the smell for unwanted critters to track.
8. Automatic laser cat toy
Say you want to go out for a day. You may want to explore a new city or go hiking. What if your cat gets bored?
A great solution to that problem is to get an automatic laser cat toy that turns on regularly throughout the day to keep your cat entertained for hours.
There are many different types of automatic laser toys. I like the hanging version for my RV because I can mount it from the ceiling. With limited space in your RV, the last thing you want is another item taking up valuable floor, table, or counter space.
9. Travel indoor/outdoor cat house
Cats like to be in closed spaces. It makes them feel safe and secure. Therefore, it is recommended to purchase a collapsible cat house.
The ones I’ve included here are multi-level and allow your cat to see the surroundings better. You can also add a cat tunnel. I think this is pretty good.
10. Cat window perch and scratcher combo
Cats love to look outside. They love observing wildlife and people and getting some sun when they can.
If you have the space, cats will love window perches and small scratching posts.
Your cat can lounge by the window and scratch as needed.
The good news is that perches and posts don’t take up much space. It can be attached directly to the window with a suction cup so it does not get in the way.
