Going camping on the beach or lake? Here are some fun and useful beach camping gear…
When most people think of camping, they think of being in the woods. However, many camps take place on ocean beaches and lakes.
In fact, Jennifer and I are often on beaches in Florida and the Great Lakes. They are two of our favorite destinations!
That’s why we decided to put together a list of fun and useful beach camping accessories that you can easily pack into your RV. This list has everything from beach games to giant beach blankets.

As you can see from the video, Jennifer and I have spent a lot of time beach camping. We share our favorite campgrounds along the Gulf Coast. Here you can put the following beach camping accessories to good use:
1. Portable beach tent
This tent is designed to provide a shaded and sand free lounge space on the beach. With only three sides, the front is open and offers gorgeous sea views.
Extendable floors help keep sand away from snacks and drinks in shaded areas. Well, at least as long as you can keep the sand out.
2. Pack of 4 microfiber beach towels with bag.
Bulky beach towels can quickly take up the limited space in your RV. That’s why this compact bag of microfiber towels is a great solution.
A quick-drying towel that is soft and highly absorbent without using any chemical dyes.
This 10′ x 9′ oversized beach blanket is lightweight yet durable. When folded, it becomes a bag that can be held with one hand.
It’s waterproof, easy to clean, and tear-resistant. It also comes with stakes to secure it to the ground.
This blanket is perfect for the beach, but it can also be used at the campsite. So win-win wherever you go!
This mesh beach bag has two great perks. First, you can easily see where your items are in your bag. No more hunting for sunscreen.
Second, don’t put sand back in your RV. The mesh material allows the sand to pass through and return to its rightful place, the beach. It also helps air out soggy towels and clothing when returning to your RV.
Oh, I just realized there’s a third nice perk. Being mesh, he takes up very little space in your RV when folded.
Mike and Jennifer’s RV Lifestyle Hat Collection

Who needs a hat? You do! Dad hats aren’t just for dads. This comfortable he one has a low profile design with adjustable straps and a curved visor. The perfect item for his next RV lifestyle adventure.
5. Bottle-sized compact chair
We have a full list of the best camping chairs for your campsite, but this compact chair is perfect for the beach. It’s only the size of a bottle when folded, so you don’t have to carry the chair across the sand.
This design was actually realized through crowdfunding. It’s the “most-funded portable chair in crowdfunding history.” It sets up in 5 seconds and supports up to 300 pounds with its aircraft-grade aluminum construction.
6. Kids mesh shell collection bag
If your kid (or wife) loves collecting seashells, this mesh bag is for you. Much better than carrying around a beach bucket full of damp sand.
The bag also has a zipper so you never lose your shell. Additionally, you can rinse the shell without removing it from the bag.
You get three bags in one set, and you can choose from several fun color combinations.
7. Collapsible cornhole game set
This ultralight fabric cornhole game is perfect for playing at the beach. In fact, we’ve included it in our list of the 10 Best Outdoor Camping Games. Therefore, it is ideal for the beach or travel campsites.
It comes with two collapsible game boards, a bean bag and stakes, all in a small bag with carry handle.
8. Slam game set
This is also from my best outdoor games list, but it’s perfect for the beach! Playing on soft sand will make you play harder than on hard dirt at your campsite.
It’s a great active game that can be played by multiple people at once. Perfect for a family beach date!
9. Coolers like the YETI are cheaper
I wanted to include a good cooler on this list, but picking just one is too difficult. Different people need different coolers, depending on their plans.
Instead, I’m linking to an article I recently wrote that lists coolers like the YETI, but without the hefty price tag. They still work well, but don’t steal your fuel budget!
10. Dig-git Beach Umbrella Sand Anchor

This cool gadget was actually featured on USA Network’s America’s Big Deal in 2021. This is a shovel that also acts as an anchor for beach umbrellas.
Works with standard beach umbrellas. It goes without saying that it comes in handy when your child wants to be buried in the sand!
I’ve always had this irrational fear of flying beach umbrellas and stabbing someone, so I want more people to use them.
Bonus: Kids Life Vest
You know, I’m surprised how few kids wear life jackets on the beach. Everyone wears it on the lake, but not on the beach with crashing waves or low tide. why is that?
Parents can rest and have more fun at the beach if their children are wearing life jackets. So, here are some of the Coast Guard-approved, highly maneuverable options.
This brand offers different colors in different sizes. It’s not too bulky, so your child won’t feel cramped, and it’s easy to store.
beach kite

Kites can be used at the beach or at home. There are so many cool things these days! It can also be easily stored in your RV.
Mike and Jennifer’s Favorite Places in Florida – All 3 eBooks!

We RVers may wander far and wide, but it’s true that for most of us, we end up at our favorite “go-to” place, a place we’re drawn back to again and again.
Florida is one such place for us. And we know it’s for the many RVers looking to get away and explore during the winter months.
That’s why we’ve created three guides covering: Florida’s Atlantic Coast, Gulf Coast, and Keys.
Each of these guides is one 7-day guided expedition of the coast. And each stop is a hand-picked view of the best we’ve enjoyed on this trip that we want you to experience.
All in all, these guides are over 300 pages of content.
